Auburn, WA is located south of Seattle in south King and North Pierce counties. The population was 87,256 at the 2020 Census.

Auburn has an extensive system of parks, open space and urban trails: 28 developed parks, over 23 miles of trails which includes a 4.5 mile portion of the Inter-urban Trail for bikers, walkers, runners and skaters, and almost 247 acres of open space for passive and active recreation.

The city is served by the Auburn School District. The district is larger than the city itself, serving the neighboring towns of Algona and Pacific, as well as some unincorporated areas around Auburn and Kent.
